Welcome to the Wang River! One of the great four rivers in Northern Thailand and the reason for the flourishing timber trade in the end of the 19th century when Lampang boosted a population of 20,000 and 4,000 working elephants. In those days Lampang was Northern Thailand’s prime business hub. Burmese teak loggers, Chinese traders and entrepreneurs from other Thai towns all left their mark on the town. Many of the impressive temples and grand mansions are reminiscent of those days.

This a great place for a drink with a view. Riverside was the first pub and restaurant at the Wang riverfront opening in 1987. It’s a relaxing spot on terraces overlooking the river and although the place has changed owners many times, the name always stayed the same: ‘The Riverside’.

Have a refreshing lime soda (THB 50) or ice cold Singha draft beer (THB 70). Live music every night at 7.30pm!
