Charming wooden house that was once the town’s post office
- Min Street, Kalaw
- Currently closed for public
Communication hub
This charming old brick and wood building along the treelined Min Street is one of the oldest buildings in the centre of Kalaw. It used to be the town post office but is currently boarded up. In the days this was a communication hub, the centre of telegraph and telephone exchanges in the whole district. Here you could send your letter in style.
A new lease of life?
Rumours have it that the old office will soon be restored and turned into the Kalaw’s Tourism Information Centre. We can only hope they keep the charm of the place.
